Soundsystem Pastoral was recorded by Daniel Lopatin aka Dania Shapes during the winter of 2004 using synthesizers, a first generation digital sequencer, and a freeware sound editor. It was remixed in 2006 for the release on naivsuper.
Celebrating the potential of amateurishness, decadence and romance in the realm of digital audio arts, Lopatin looks to marry the aesthetic sensibilities of experimental electronics with his allegiance to the classic 'beauty' in music. 'Glitch' is less a process for Lopatin -- rather it is an aesthetic impression which Lopatin emulates by hand. Pairing the residual effects of romantic, heart string melodies with steroidal, detailed, maximalist noise, Dania Shapes' audible bricolage is a tribute to both the beautiful and the broken all at once.
Working with simple tools such as handheld tape recorders, retro synthesizers, and a personal computer, Lopatin creates conceptual systems and processes to create a solo music that's beautiful and inventive, with interesting textures and unexpected sonic interventions. The music has a lush, ambient quality, but an edge as well. Throughout the CD, one finds a subtle use of repetition. The pieces are formally well-conceived and never contrived. The music is clearly indebted to heroes of electronica such as Christian Fennesz, William Basinski, and Brian Eno. and it has links to classic experimentalists such as David Tudor and David Behrman. Yet Lopatin maintains a more song-based musical position that results in an accessible product that will attract fans of ambient, post-rock, and experimental music

AMP WALL MONUMENT CONFRONTATION recontextualizes the Otto-von-Bismarck monument at the Deutsches Museum (Boschbrücke, Munich) using sound and performance. To call attention to the imperialistic, nationalistic, and colonial contexts, a sculpture and counter monument consisting of 21 guitar amplifiers has been installed for one day in front of the monument. Seven electric guitars were connected to the sound system. An ambient drone composition was performed on them with seven guitarists for four hours.
AMP WALL MONUMENT rekontextualisiert das Otto-von-Bismarck-Denkmal im Deutschen Museum (Boschbrücke, München) mittels Sound und Performance. Um auf die imperialistischen, nationalistischen und kolonialen Kontexte aufmerksam zu machen, wurde für einen Tag ein Skulptur- und Gegenmonument aus 21 Gitarrenverstärkern vor dem Denkmal installiert. Sieben E-Gitarren wurden an das Soundsystem angeschlossen. Auf ihnen wurde vier Stunden lang mit sieben Gitarristen eine Ambient-Drone-Komposition gespielt.

All of which is to say that it is hard to not be in earshot of his musical influence in one way or another. With mono.kultur, Brian Eno talked about the impact of technology on culture, the similarities between producing music and parenting, and why they called Elvis ‘The Pelvis’. Given Brian Eno’s interest in how art can affect moods and emotions, our new issue turned into somewhat of an experiment in chromatics, with the pages gradually traveling the entire colour spectrum from yellow to blue and back again, which not only affects the optical perception of the yellow text, but also how one responds to the content of the interview. Le Petit Mignon ist ein Plattenlabel, ein Verlag und eine wandernde Galerie, die sich auf DIY- und Underground-Kunst und Grafikdesign konzentriert. Es wird vom Berliner Musikverlag Staalplaat - spezialisiert auf ungewöhnlichen und experimentellen Sound - betrieben.
Die je etwa 20 experimentellen Musikstücke auf jeder Seite der Platte kommen von rund 40 Künstlern und sind zwischen 7 und 22 Sekunden lang.

Die georgische Elektronik-Künstlerin Anushka Chkheidze hat in den letzten Jahren einen ordentlichen Aufstieg hingelegt. Ihr Sound entwickelt sich stetig weiter, zwischen Ambient, IDM und anderen Spielarten der elektronischen Musik. Ihr Debütalbum „Halfie“ erschien im April 2020, bestimmt und dominiert von den schwebenden Rhythmen und analogen Synths der 80er und den euphorischen Club-/Dance-Sounds der 90er-Jahre. „Halfie“ war für den IMPALA European Independent Album of the Year Award nominiert. Auf ihrem Album kümmert sie sich wenig bis gar nicht um Genres.
Das 2013 von Jean-Christophe Groffe gegründete Ensemble thélème vereint Musiker aus der Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, die sich auf die Interpretation alter Musik spezialisiert haben und neugierig sind, diese aus neuen Perspektiven zu erforschen. Das Ensemble hat seinen Namen von der Abtei, die Rabelais am Ende von Gargantua beschreibt, wo gute Gefährten das Vergnügen teilen, "zu lesen, zu schreiben, zu singen, harmonische Instrumente zu spielen", und dabei die eine Regel befolgen: "Fay que voudras". Im Geiste dieses Mottos pflegt thélème einen lebendigen Dialog mit den Werken der Renaissance und lässt sie in Resonanz mit unserer Zeit treten. thélème erhielt den renommierten Gramophone Award (Alte Musik) 2022 für das Album "Baisiez moy" (Aparté).

Honest Electronics ist stolz, das musikalische Konzeptalbum ''Hawaiiprus. Die verlorenen Aufnahmen von Polyhaos" vorzustellen, das von Panayotis arrangiert wurde. Das Album besteht aus 10 Tracks, deren Namen auf Ziele und Sehenswürdigkeiten der Insel Hawaiiprus verweisen, welche Polyhaos, ein "mysteriöser Alien-Typ", besucht. Dieser halb-imaginäre Ort lässt sich von den Schriften von Bioy Casares, dem Orientalismus, dem zeitgenössischen Leben und der Gemeinschaft sowie von elektronischer und Live-Musik inspirieren, um eine Geschichte über seine eigene Schöpfung zu formen und zu gestalten. Dabei handelt es sich um die angeblichen Aufzeichnungen des mysteriösen Fremden, der versucht, sich in die dortige Gesellschaft einzufügen.
Das Konzept wird getragen von Musik, die aus Samples, Live-Instrumenten, Synthesizern und Elektronik besteht, die Beats und Melodien bilden, die manchmal repetitiv und zugänglich und manchmal fließend und ambient sind. Jeder Song ist eine Geschichte und die Stimmungen ist vom Hörer abhängig.
